We need to develop infrastructure that meets growing demands placed on sustainability and accessibility.
Our infrastructure needs to be able to meet the growing demands placed on sustainability and accessibility. In order to make it easier to get to and travel sustainably around the destination, we need to invest in infrastructure, sustainable travel systems and hiking/biking trails. We need to improve upon and work more proactively with planning our tourist-heavy areas, so we can create easy access and flow between attractions. Collaborating when planning increases the possibilities of successful planning that will strengthen the development of the tourism industry. It will strengthen dialogue and ensure a continued positive attitude towards the tourism industry among people who live permanently in the High Coast. It will also create an outlook shared by the public sector, private sector, permanent residents and visitors. This, in turn, prevents conflicts of interest and we can put solutions in place before problems arise.
Based on today’s global challenges, our own strengths and weaknesses as well as our vision and our goals, we have identified five strategic areas and associated sub-strategies that we have identified as areas we need to work with in order to reach success as we move towards 2030.
